Saturday, 27 May 2006. Bayan Muna (People First) member killed in Laguna, Southern Tagalog, Philippines. A member of the progressive political party Bayan Muna was gunned down on Saturday afternoon (Manila time) in Lecheria village, Calamba City, Laguna. Calamaba police superintendent Roland Bustos identified the victim as Noli Capulong. Witnesses say Capulong was gunned down by two men on a motorcycle. This is the 604th political killing under de facto Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo who took power in 2001. Sources: Inquirer, Bulatlat, Karapatan.
